The first Schoenstatt Shrine that opens its doors to virtual world
A virtual visit to the Family Shrine in Schoenstatt through the page of the Institute of Schoenstatt Families
SCHOENSTATT, pos. It is the first Schoenstatt Shrine that opens its doors to the virtual world: The Families’ Shrine. The Institute of Schoenstatt Families offers in its web page to all families (and not only them) a virtual visit to the Shrine and to ask for prayers. This project, says Francisco Nuño, is the gift from the Institute to the Shrine of the Families.
The Shrine of the Families, located on the side of Mount Nazareth in Schoenstatt, was a gift to the Father and Founder of Schoenstatt in 1967, from the families of the three communities of the Family Work, League, Federation and Institute, conquered spiritually and built as a solidarity and unity sign by many Schoenstatt families in Germany and other countries. It was blessed September 19th, 1971. Today it is visited by families and pilgrims from many countries. Many of them leave photos of their home shrines or of their families on the net hanging inside the Shrine. Conscious of the bond existing between many families and this Shrine the Council of the Institute of Schoenstatt Families, together with a group of computer experts in Spain, have been working for months in a project to allow a virtual visit to the Families' Shrine by all the "surfers" of the Schoenstatt world. They can go inside the Shrine or stroll around it. It is also possible to click on some of the symbols of the Shrine to open a new window with an enlarged photo and a brief explanation about the history and the meaning of the symbol. All the texts are in Spanish, German and English.
Comments of one of the first visitors, from Argentina: "It is wonderful, I am still amazed and feel the joy of being in a trip around Schoenstatt, even if it is not the Original Shrine or the Father’s tomb..."
Visit the Shrine accessing the official web site of the Institute in Germany: www.schoenstatt-familien.org
Virtual prayer room in the Shrine of the Families
With the virtual visit the Institute offers the possibility of sending prayers and offers to the MTA, Queen of the Family, in the Shrine of the Families.
The families of the Institute are committed to take your prayers to the Shrine and to offer them to the Blessed Mother in the Covenant Masses celebrated there.
To access the virtual visit we recommend to read the observations first and the necessary instructions on the window VIRTUAL VISIT – READ FIRST
On this web site, there is also information about the Institute of the Families and direct access to the new page of the House of the Families (under construction, for the moment only in German)
